Decoding peer-to-peer donor behaviour: Research-based recommendations for fundraising success
Thursday 20 Feb 2025 - 9:40 am to 10:40 am
- General Fundraiser (all fundraisers)
- Small Organisations
Delve into the latest research on peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraising with this data-driven session that offers novel insights into donor motivations and the mechanism driving P2P giving. This presentation will explore the core drivers behind donations to P2P fundraisers and identify the barriers that often hinder successful giving. While P2P fundraising is recognised as a crucial revenue source for charities, the sector continues to grapple with the challenge of converting P2P donors into long-term supporters.
Attendees will gain access to detailed findings uncovered from a series of focus groups with P2P donors, as well as interviews with 27 charities and fundraising consultants across Australia and New Zealand. These comprehensive insights will offer a deeper understanding of P2P donor behaviour, the factors influencing their decisions, and effective engagement strategies.
The session will provide actionable advice on improving donor engagement, retention, and satisfaction. It will also offer practical tips for assisting P2P fundraisers in their solicitation efforts and overcoming common pitfalls that deter donations. Participants will leave with research-based strategies designed to enhance their P2P fundraising programs to help drive greater success for their charities.
