How fostering collaboration and innovation grew Black Dog Institute’s partnerships by 400% in one year.

When COVID hit, our fundraising like most charities, went off a cliff. Our partners faced a dramatically different landscape, many uncertain if they would have a business on the other side.
Black Dog Institute took a risk and called it out, telling our partners we would take money off the table for 6 months and asked them one question, how can we help?
We ripped up our business model and championed collaboration and innovation with our broader fundraising team and partners. We invested in content marketing and launched two virtual fundraising events, one of which specifically designed for corporates. All within the space of a few months.
The result was an increase in partnership untied revenue of 400% compared to FY21.
What I’d love to convey in the session is how achieved this success and all the mistakes we made a long the way (there were plenty)! I’d like to work through how to collaborate with your broader fundraising team and why innovation is essential in corporate partnerships now. I’d also work through where the current purses of partner money are now and how to get it.
