As we face a global cost of living crisis, we are seeing an increased demand for services, whilst also seeing a downturn in donations. Now more than ever, we have to think differently to achieve our fundraising targets.

At Blind Low Vision we took the bold step of reviewing all our fundraising initiatives, taking all activity out of silos to work in an integrated way across campaigns, channels and teams. This quickly led to us including ALL our public facing activity; Communications, Marketing, Policy, Advocacy and Community Engagement within one Public Engagement Integrated Campaign Strategy – The Halo Effect.

This has allowed us to spend less, to achieve more, growing market reach and brand recognition to achieve greater fundraised income and awareness outcomes. Our strategy for 2024 has our 3 key Policy and Advocacy themes running through all of our activities from fundraising and philanthropy to communications, marketing and community awareness, sharing the same key messages but in audience appropriate ways – ensuring they are heard multiple times, across different channels, whilst still retaining the necessary ingredients within each channel for engaging successfully with our key audiences of donors, clients, potential clients and decision makers.
