What if donors trusted us more – and faster?
Thursday 24 Feb 2022 - 9:10 am to 10:10 am
Australia aims to double structured philanthropy by 2030! But how might we double all giving? As a giving researcher, the answer starts with clearing the persistent, growing roadblocks. In particular, we should do something about the amount, quality and speed of trust between givers/funders and fundraising organisations. The future is an increasingly trust intensive environment. Organisations, workforces, fundraisers – they all need a new trust alertness and active strategies to professionally manage, measure and make trust a cultural norm that adds value to the NPO and its stakeholders. I’m just starting some multi-disciplinary research to unpack how we make trust more ‘agile’, along with concepts such as speed to trust, trust dashboards and return on trust. My research site is fundraising/philanthropic organisations. This interactive conference session would report concepts and early findings from case sites. I believe these findings will: start to demonstrate the power of ethical, trusted fundraising, get people and organisations thinking differently about investing in and embedding ‘agile’ trust in what they do, and deliver better value to donors and the people/animals/environments the charity serves. In short, attendees can join an interactive session on evidence-based, Australian thinking that challenges current approaches to trust in giving across the gamut.
