Rob Needham

Head of Fundraising

Endeavour Foundation

Rob Needham joined the fundraising profession in 2005, and started out in a very grass roots role as a Community Development Officer for the Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland. In this role, Rob would visit almost 50 homes and businesses each day to build relationships with supporters whilst counting coins that had been saved up in the collection tins. This program, known as the Friendship Banking program, had been started almost 50 years earlier when parents of children living with Cerebral Palsy wanted to raise much needed funds for the cause. During this time, Rob got to meet an array of supporters, heard many extraordinary stories of people’s lives and was often referred to as ‘The Tin Man’.

During the past 16 years in the Not for Profit sector, Rob has been provided the opportunity to learn skills from some of the best fundraising practioneers in Australasia. These areas have included Major Gifts, Bequests, Community Fundraising and Sponsorships. Rob has been fortunate to have served iconic organisations including The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section), Anglican Church Grammar School (Churchie), Mater Foundation and now as Head of Fundraising for Endeavour Foundation.

Rob has attended major Fundraising conferences (National Fundraising Institute of Australia and Madison Down Under), FIA workshops and seminars throughout his career, and his learnings have been heavily influenced by leading practioneers from Australia, USA and United Kingdom. In 2015, Rob successfully completed the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) studies and exam. Further to this, Rob has served as an Executive Committee member for Educate Plus (Queensland) and the FIA Chapter Three (Queensland).
