After attending, participants will better understand:

• how to talk to and about First Nations peoples (and avoid some faux pas);
• how to build relationships and trust with First Nations individuals and communities, and
• the underpinning principles that we need to grasp as individuals and organisations if we are to form partnerships and deliver programs that have a truly meaningful impact.

This session is not just for people who work with Indigenous Australians. As fundraisers, we are leaders in our organisations and communities, using our emotional intelligence and our communication skills for good. The demand for cultural competence is ever-increasing and if we are to move the needle on Indigenous outcomes, we must all understand these concepts.
