How to structure a programme that realises the potential of your Major Donors and Key Supporters
Thursday 20 Feb 2025 - 11:20 am to 12:50 pm
- General Fundraiser (all fundraisers)
- Small Organisations
How often do we step back and have a proper look at your major gifts programs?
A real proper look.
Are the key elements of strategy, communications, relationships and budgeting present and supporting each other? Does it feel like you are undertaking a series of actions with no clear structure and or direction? Does it feel like you’re endlessly chasing shadows which promise so much, yet only sometimes are successful? Do you wish for sustainable, dependable growth that’s not contingent on a few outliers?
In this session Karl Tischler and John Burns from Marlin Communications will take you through how you can create the foundations of your Major Gifts programme which:
- provides structure for budgeting and activity;
- builds long term programmatic momentum;
- yields confidence to repeat and scale, and
- logically connects the three elements of major donor relationship teams, major donor communications plans and the major donor experience
Whether you have a well-established program, are just setting out or need to recalibrate, understanding the key elements of your major gifts program and how they fit together, this session is vital.
John and Karl are practitioners and have worked in the major donor space for close to twenty years. They will introduce the four pillars of a major gift program, the major donor communication activity pyramid, and the Major Gift Health Check. You will leave this session with a series of logical, implementable and sustainable frameworks that provide that provide that stable foundation you need for Major Gift success.
