You are an aspiring CEO or board member and want to prepare yourself to lead an organisation close to your heart. This session will equip you with knowledge and inspiration to reach for the fundraising leadership stars. You will want to hear findings and recommendations from PhD research focusing on nonprofit leaders supporting and driving fundraising. Through this research, you will hear from experienced CEOs and board members what they consider to be the high points of career development for aspiring leaders. Consider how, you, as a fundraising leader, can prepare yourself to be the ‘voice of fundraising’ on a nonprofit board. Current leaders can also learn from this research how they can improve their leadership and lead their organisations better – from a fundraising point of view.

This session will be interactive with audience members participating in polls to compare their responses to research findings. Attendees will discuss their experiences with a partner in the audience, reflecting on the research and their leadership aspirations.
