Four futures for generosity

Friday 1 Mar 2024 - 11:00 am to 12:00 pm

  • General Fundraiser (all fundraisers)

Today businesses don’t plan. They prepare. Not for what is probable but for what is possible. They don’t just do strategy. They look for signals.

If the last few years have taught us anything it’s that everything is uncertain.

This spectacular session has used best practice Futures Thinking and Scenario Mapping to create the Four Future World’s for Generosity. This isn’t about hoverboards. That is sci-fi. And it isn’t about the massive influx of intergenerational wealth transfer – that is a given. This thought-provoking session will inspire deep thinking about “what if”.

What if society becomes more individualistic, or more collectivist?

What if trust in organisations evaporates in a tidal wave of AI driven disinformation?

Will people re-engage with the office, community and society after the pandemic?

Martin and Rod have run a series of scenario mapping retreats with thought leaders from different sectors of society, interviewed global fundraisers and engaged future thinkers from the world of innovation to create the Four Worlds for Generosity.

We will:
-examine the Mega Trends that sit behind the model
-discuss the societal evolutions that drive the four worlds
-explore how the worlds differ and how this might affect generosity
-identify the signals that alert us to which world is emerging
-suggest practical actions that transcend the world models
